Afterwake

A small boat. A very long memory.

In Afterwake, the route you sail becomes your weapon. Enemies surf your wake to catch you. Reel backward along that same path to strike them and clear hostile shots. Longer, riskier routes can deliver stronger attacks.

Clear nine crossings, defeat three keepers, and choose salvage upgrades between encounters. Ten upgrade types are available from your first voyage. Reach the ending, then continue into the endless sea for a higher score.

Controls

• WASD or arrow keys: sail

• Space: reel backward along your wake

• Mouse: hold the left button over the sea to steer; right-click to reel

• 1 / 2 / 3: choose salvage upgrades

• Esc: pause or go back

• F11: fullscreen

• M: toggle music

Gamepad: left stick to sail, A to reel, and A / X / Y for salvage choices.

Windows edition requires 64-bit Windows and OpenGL 2.1-compatible graphics. The game and LÖVE runtime are included in the downloads.

Mac edition: universal Intel and Apple Silicon app for macOS 11 or later. The Mac package is ad-hoc signed and not Apple-notarized. Package-integrity checks passed; launch and gameplay on a Mac have not yet been tested.
